The story, "A Letter to God" by G. L. Fuentes depicts unwavering faith of a farmer in God. It begins with a farmer, named Lencho expecting for a rain shower to nourish his field of corn. He is confident that his harvest is going to yield his huge profits just like it does every year.

The story "His First Flight is written by Liam O Flaherty and is based on a young seagull who was afraid to take his first flight because he feared that his wings wouldn't support him while flying….One fine day, the whole family flew to a big plateau and taunted the young seagull for his cowardice.
4. From the Diary of Anne Frank
In this lesson, Anne talks about being lonely and having no one to talk to despite being surrounded by family and around 30 people whom she called her friends. Thus, she takes the decision of writing her feelings in a diary.
5 The Hundred Dresses- I
The lesson "The Hundred Dresses- I is about a girl named Wanda who claims to have one hundred dresses Her classmates made fun of her because what she claims is in contradiction to the fact that she was always seen wearing the same dress. Her classmates found her name to be "funny" It was because everyone has easier names than Wanda Petronski Her name was different because she was a Polish immigrant who had come to an American town with her family. She was poor and did not have many friends.
6. The Hundred Dresses-II
In continuation of the previous lesson, "The Hundred Dresses II" reveals why Wanda Petronski had not been coming to school. The Petronski family decided to move to a big city where no one would care about their unfamiliar name. On hearing the note' Maddie and Peggy got anxious as they realised that they would never get a chance for making amends for all the teasing they had done. Both the girls get relieved only on learning that Wanda liked them and had dedicated one of the hundred dresses
7. Glimpses of India
'A Baker from Goa' revolves around the relevance of a baker in the Goan Culture which dates back to the time when Portuguese ruled over the city of Goa. The Portuguese may have left but the breadmakers continue to have an inevitable stature. In this story, the author recalls his childhood days and their excitement on seeing the baker. They were enthusiastic to the point that they would run to him as soon as they woke up without even brushing their teeth.
8. Mijbil the otter
In this lesson, the author tells us how his life changed after he decided to domesticate an otter after he lost his pet dog. He takes us through his journey of adjusting, playing and travelling with Mijbil (or Mij) the otter, from Iraq to London and how during this journey, he developed an insepa- rable bond with him.
9. Madam Rides the Bus
The lesson "Madam Rides the Bus" is about a brave eight years old who had a strong desire and along with it, the courage to fulfil it. She liked gazing at the hustle and bustle of the street and her favourite part was the sight of a bus arriving and departing. Thus, she developed a deep desire to travel by bus.
10 The Sermon at Benares
The Buddha preached his first sermon at the city of Benares, most holy of the dipping places on the River Ganges; that sermon has been preserved and is given here. It reflects the Buddha's wisdom about one inscrutable kind of suffering.
11 The Proposal
The moral of the story is to learn to forgive and forget. In the story, 'The Proposal' by Anton Chekov, the three main characters Natalya, her father Chubukov, and Lomov lose their temper on silly and trivial issues.
